Life was very difficult in the 18th century and no future was certain. Families endured many hardships, including the loss of children. Doctor Ivory & Mrs. Fanny Hovey erected a gravestone with three winged souls like this one in memory of Dominicus, Dominicus 2 & Samuel who died between 1785 & 1790. They rest in Old Vine Cemetery, Berwick, Maine.
